Make a difference by Hannah Keeley

Life isn’t always going to go smoothly. In fact, the smooth times are the ones we rarely remember. It’s the highs and lows that become permanently etched in our mind. And motherhood is full of them. We witness the smiles and we wipe the tears and through it all, we remain strong and focused.

My wish for you this week is not for smooth sailing, but for an exhilarating trip. I heard a saying once that “a ship in a harbor is safe, but that is not what a ship is built for.” That applies to every single one of us. God did not design us to just exist here on earth and get by. He created each of us to make a difference in this world. And we can do that in every moment and in every decision. Whenever we are choosing to use kind words instead of yelling, we are making a difference. Whenever we choose to hold rather than hit, we are making a difference. Even in the little moments—washing a dish instead of leaving it on the counter, making a bed instead of walking away (wah, yg ni sgt bagus jadi motivation kalau rasa dah tak larat atau malas nak buat kerja rumah kan). Life is made up of moments; and it’s how you spend those moments that create the quality of the life you live.

No, life was never meant to be easy. But it was definitely meant to be exciting. Seize every moment you have this week and make a difference. You may be safe in a harbor, but inside you is a spirit that is ready for more. It’s ready to push life to the next level. This doesn’t happen in some miraculous, supernatural occurrence. It happens in the tiny moments. That’s where the miracle truly lies.
